Lake James delivers year-round experiences: enjoy spring wildflowers and hiking, summer boating, swimming, and fishing, fall’s vibrant foliage with scenic trails, and winter festivals, cozy evenings, and hot tub relaxation. Within 15–45 minutes, explore charming small towns, sample craft beer and local wine, chase waterfalls, hike scenic trails, or ride mountain biking trails.

Our family has always been drawn to lake life—the kind of days filled with laughter, sunshine, and time that feels a little slower. For years, Lake James has been where we reconnect, unplug, and make memories together.

Adventure Awaits Lake James is that dream brought to life.

Some of our favorite moments happen right on the water—pulling the kids on tubes and hearing their laughter echo across the lake. Early mornings and sunset kayak rides never get old. A midday stop at Lake James Marina for Bomb Pops and ice-cream sandwiches is a family tradition we look forward to every time.

Off the water, we enjoy golf with lake views at Marion Lake Club and relaxed afternoons at Fonta Flora Brewery. Casual hikes reveal incredible vistas (and the occasional swimming hole). Mountain biking around Old Fort—including trails built by G5 Collective and rides at Watershed Bike Park—is hard to beat for adventure lovers.
